A Small Difference

A Small Difference

I strongly believe that ‘’Strength does not come from believing what you cannot do, it comes from training, preparation and hard work’’. In between the gracefully flowing Trishuli river and a colossal, giant like structure Mount Ganesh touching the sky with its white sleet snow as the sign of purity and  determination, the symbol of hope and the attitude of never drooping  down to any situation whatsoever is my workplace my ‘’KARMACHETRA’’ where  Mr Krishna Bhadhur Magar resides.

His tanned skin and rugged hand is fact of his hard work and dedication towards work, I can notice his thin lingering eyes that showed the agony and pain of the tremor that hit Nepal on 25 April 2015 ‘’I was at work’’ recalled Mr Magar I went to Dhaibung 5 (a kilometre far from his home) for some carpentry work when the quiver underneath the ground was felt, I felt blue, my leg could not stand still and my brain was numb I rushed toward my home.

I can sense  the discomfort and affection exhibited by his eyes towards his family when he  described his spouse situation during the time of quake ‘’my wife jumped out  from our collapsed home quickly, she laid low, her  unconscious mind could not apprehend the nature’s fierce expression, she hastily dragged our children out  from the little void created from the staircase of our distorted home, along with children she rushed towards the safe place, the only anxiety that she had at that  point of time was that of me recollected Mr Magar ‘’She called me but could not connect’’ Human nature is bizarre  it cannot be idealist at the time of mishap, but when I arrived safely we became hassle free remembers MR  Magar. His relief sigh of breath is the fact for the proverb ‘’whatever happens, happens for the good’’.

Pattering drops of rain like a blood falling from the stars, brawl of thunder and quick flash of light accompanied by the quake made our life more uncomfortable evoked Mr Magar. My  ten member family along with dozen of our neighbour we settled together in a temporary shelter for three long day, then finally came the different organisation for their help and support. His soft shaky voice still has that distress and fear of the tremble that rocked the Himalayan state of Nepal.

I can notice his mouth which went dry remembering the calamity, it was similar sprinkling salt to sore ‘’Life came to a dead end, havoc chaos and  catastrophic followed everywhere‘’ i still remembered when Lumanti came forward and distributed CGI Sheet for the temporary shelter. We cannot forget the aid and help given by Lumanti not only in distribution of CGI  sheet but also in construction earthquake resistant house after quake’’ utters Mr Magar. Further, also the technical supervision during the construction of shelter is provided by Lumanti recollects Magar family.

“I have strong sensation towards lumanti’’ says Mr Magar the 7 days mason training in Kalikastan has changed my  perception towards the construction of building, the common blunder, error and mistakes which were  made during construction, from indigenous process got rectified by this training.it not just a mere training for me it’s the transformation in my life, the transformation  in my wage, from earning NRs 500-600 to earning NRs 1000-1200, my wage  almost doubled which helps in better foster of my 10 member family, coz common labour does not have the amount of scope in the present society, for now I am busy man with my work. I can sense his boasted chest and a brawl in his voice which is the reality of the success and better lifestyle from the mason training.

Sometimes bad things that happens will make our life more meaningful and fruitful, I can identify the same lingering eyes that showed agony and pain at first is now filled with hope and optimism ‘’ The past cannot be changed, edited, forgotten or erased .it can only be accepted, all we can do is learn from it, for now Mr Magar house is under construction, his file has been prepared and will shortly receive second instalment from Lumanti.

So ultimately in life’YOU DON’T HAVE TO BE GREAT TO START YOU HAVE TO START TO BE GREAT’ forget about finding yourself go and create yourself’’ like Krishna bhadur magar.it gave me immense honoured sensation when I spoke with Mr Magar.
